Google Analytics is a freemium web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. It is the most widely used web analytics service on the Internet. Google Analytics is a part of Google Marketing Platform. Google Analytics lets you measure your advertising ROI and track your Flash, video, and social networking sites and applications.
Go to Acquisition>All Traffic>Channels.
In the middle of the page, you will see a line graph with data for each day. Scroll down to the table below the graph. This table contains data on the number of users, new users, and percentage of new users for each channel.
Look for the “Users” metric
The number of unique users that initiated a session during the selected time period. This metric does not include users who visited your site for the first time. To see how many new visitors you had during a selected time period, look for the “New Users” metric.
Click on “Users” to see a report of users who initiated sessions over the time period you’re looking at
When you click on “Users” in the left-hand sidebar, you’ll see a report of users who initiated sessions over the time period you’re looking at. This report includes: -The total number of unique users who initiated at least one session -The number of new users (first-time users of your app) -The number (and percentage) of return users (defined as users who have initiated at least two sessions)
Find the “Source/Medium” column and look for the “google/organic” source
To find out which keywords are driving traffic to your site, follow these steps:
- Open Google Analytics.
- Navigate to Acquisition > All Traffic > Channels.
- Find the “Source/Medium” column and look for the “google/organic” source. This report shows you all the keyword traffic that came from organic searches on Google.
Click on the “google/organic” source to see a report of users who came to your site from Google organic search
The Google/organic source report shows you a list of users who came to your site from an organic Google search. You can use this report to see how well your site is performing in Google’s search results, and to make changes to improve your ranking.
